Ok, so I realize it's been a while since my last post. Things have been going well around here, I finished another school year on June 17th, and Leo and I had some visitors last week...
My friend from grad school, Melissa, and her darling daughter, Addison, came to vist and stayed with us for five days. Addison is about 6 months older than Leo. Let me just say how awesome it was to watch our kids play together. We were both so surprised at how much our kids actually looked out for one another, and how much they actually played with eachother instead of just beside eachother. They had SO MUCH FUN.
Here are a bunch of pictures from their visit...
Oh we all had the best time! It fills my heart with happiness to know that our kids love each other as much as they do. I can't wait to watch them throughout the years...

Daddy Time and Potty Time...
James arrived home safe and sound on Friday afternoon. Leo was so happy to see him! (And so was I!) He ran to him in the airport and then after they hugged for several minutes, Leo would not let James stand up. James was kneeling down hugging him and Leo wouldn't budge, he just wanted to stand close to him. It was cute. We finally made our way to the baggage claim and Leo was so happy his daddy was home!!!
Yesterday was a nice day around the house. We went out to breakfast and dinner because we didn't make it grocery shopping as planned until this morning. We went to Santino's for date night and then ran around Pensacola for a bit. It's getting easier to take Leo out to eat these days. He is typically very well-behaved. He loves to eat, though, so I think that helps. He also loves drinking water from a straw! "Munner, Munner" (Water, Water)
So this morning we finally made it to wal-mart for a huge shopping trip. Leo now has his very own potty and he loves it! He tells us everytime he's poo poo'd, but he also tells us sometimes before it happens (although he has yet to poo in the potty).
He seems to really like his potty and has spent a lot of time on it today. He's definitely interested, so maybe we can work on it this summer which is something that I hadn't planned on tackling yet, but if he's into it maybe we'll try.
Some light reading material to help him "relax" (which is important according to the books).
And...we did have success tonight after his bath!!! He went pee pee in the potty! James an I were so excited and he looked at us like we were nuts. He didn't even want the white chocolate chip I gave him for going in the potty; instead he was begging us to let him brush his teeth. ?? I am not going to complain...
Oh, and since we're on the subject of not complaining, how awesome is it that Leo loves all foods?! Tonight we had grilled fish with corn and salads and he loved all of it! I am so thankful and lucky that he is a good eater!
His favorite parts of his salad are the tomotoes and cucumbers!
I believe that is all I have to report. It's been a great weekend and I only have one more week of work left so that makes things even better!

Sweetness...
Today was a good day. Leo woke up in a super-sweet mood and was such a good little boy all day. (At least he was with me, and his sitter didn't tell me otherwise so I am assuming he was wonderful for her all day, too).
He's talking a lot these days and it's so cute. I can still only make out what he's saying about half the time, and he has all kinds of made-up words for certain things, but a lot of the time we communicate back and forth quite effectively, so that's fun. He loves his monkey pillowpet ("Money") and he loves his blankie ("nigh nigh" or "cuggles"). He also loves bananas, grapes, and crackers (and crackers could be pretzels, cheez-its, wheat thins, or actual crackers) and he loves popcorn.
He still says thank you quite often and is starting to say please ("peey") more regularly. My favorite so far was today in the car, he wanted some more banana and said "mo peey, eet tyu" (more please, thank you) all in one breath. He's also still doing the signs for please and thank you so that makes it even cuter.
He tells me everytime he poo poos and wants his diaper changed immediately. I will be buying him his very own potty this weekend. He still has yet to actually go in the potty, but he likes to sit on it and wipe himself and then flush.
He used to like for me to brush his teeth but now he demands to hold the toothbrush. I used to get by by having two brushes and letting him hold one while I brushed his teeth. He was distracted by the toothbrush he was holding, or more often his reflection in the mirror. He likes to look in the mirror and laugh at himself and say "babeeeey". Anyway, now, he wants all of the toothbrushes and I practically have to pin him down to get his teeth brushed. Needless to say, his teeth are probably not as clean as they should be. Daddy might be inheriting that job when he gets home.
Ok, I am off to bed.

Beach Day...
This morning was filled with beach time and it was wonderful. Leo and I went to the beach with my friend Mary Grace, her son Grady, Mary Grace's sister Katie, and Katie's daughter Anna Cross. Grady turned two in December and Anna Cross will be two in less than a month. Leo had a blast! He is currently napping from the adventurous morning.
What a wonderful morning. I am off to take a nap!
Here are some pics from our outing:
Ready to leave!
Loaded down with all our gear. Pretty impressive. Especially considering we were at the beach for only two hours...
Not super thrilled with his life jacket, but he loved it once he was in the water!

Busy Busy...
Well, Leo's ENT appointment went well. He currently does have fluid behind his ear drum but it is not infected. Dr gave us a few options but recommended that we wait and see if possibly his infections clear up after summer break begins and Leo is not in child care every day. We went ahead and scheduled the surgery (for tubes) for August 1st, but we will have a pre-op appointment a week before and if his ears are dry and he hasn't had any more infections, we can cancel the surgery. If that happens and for some reason he starts getting infections again, we can do the tubes at any time. I feel good about this and maybe he won't get any more infections. The Dr said if Leo were his child, he'd be conservative at this point. In the meantime he said Leo can swim and everything like normal and that his ear infections are not related to that at all. I was glad to hear that because Leo loves to be in the water!
It is horribly hot here and I was so sweaty after lugging Leo and all our stuff in and out of the Dr's office today. Leo is currently running around the house like a mad man. We are getting ready to video chat with daddy. After that it's a quick dinner and bath and off to bed!
I'll leave you with a couple pictures...

He loves to pretend to be on the computer...right before I took this picture he was on his tummy pretending to type.
His favorite thing might be daddy's tractor!
